Volunteer with Just Breathe Adaptive

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Just Breathe Adaptive Scuba (JBAS). Volunteers play a vital role in helping us provide safe, inclusive, and empowering adaptive scuba experiences to individuals with disabilities. This agreement outlines the expectations and responsibilities for volunteers, whether assisting at local events, pool training sessions, or on adaptive scuba travel experiences.

Volunteer Expectations

As a JBAS volunteer, I commit to:

1. Supporting the Mission: Actively support JBAS’s mission to provide adaptive scuba      training, travel, and experiences to individuals with disabilities.
2. Safety First: Follow all safety protocols, training requirements, and instructions from JBAS staff and instructors.
3. Respect & Inclusion: Treat all participants, families, and team members with dignity, respect, and compassion, embracing our commitment to inclusion.
4. Professionalism: Represent JBAS in a positive and professional manner at all times,      including on social media and during public interactions.
5. Confidentiality: Protect the privacy of participants and refrain from sharing personal or      medical information without consent.
6. Reliability: Arrive on time, communicate promptly if unable to attend, and honor      commitments to events or trips.
7. Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with JBAS staff, other volunteers, and adaptive divers, understanding that every role is important to program success.

Training & Requirements

• Volunteers participating in adaptive scuba activities or travel trips agree to complete any required Adaptive Dive Buddy Training or orientation sessions as needed.
• Travel volunteers may be asked to assist with logistics such as equipment handling, participant support, and team coordination.

Code of Conduct

• I will maintain appropriate boundaries with participants.
• I will not engage in discriminatory, harassing, or unsafe behaviors.
• I understand that JBAS reserves the right to dismiss volunteers who do not uphold this commitment or the safety of the program.

Liability Waiver

I acknowledge that volunteering with scuba-related activities involves inherent risks. I agree to follow all safety guidelines and release JBAS, its staff, and affiliates from liability for injuries or accidents, except in cases of gross negligence or misconduct.
